Low-Prep Composite Veneers
Veneers Have Come A Long Way!
Almost everyone who asks us about veneers pictures the same thing: healthy teeth ground down to little points, then covered up. That image comes from how veneers were done decades ago, and it is the single biggest reason people talk themselves out of a smile they would love.
Modern materials changed the math. With low-prep composite veneers we bond tooth-colored material onto the front of your teeth and sculpt it by hand. In many cases nothing is removed at all. Your own teeth stay underneath, intact, and the result looks like you on your best day — not like someone else’s smile.
- Little to no enamel removed, often none at all
- Usually finished in a single appointment
- Hand-sculpted and shade-matched to your face, not a mold
- Noticeably more affordable than porcelain
- Repairable and refreshable down the road
- No goopy impressions, no waiting weeks on a lab

I was seen promptly and given great care. When a prescription could not be filled, the receptionist followed through with various calls to alternative drug stores. It was a great help.Posted on Google![]()

Fabulous experience! What a great Dental practice -- always prepared, knowledgeable, friendly and caring! I've been a patient of Dr. Gayed and his team since he started with Dr. Shaw four years ago or so. I can honestly say that I even look forward to visiting the dentist! Their hygienists are top notch -- across the board, the best I've ever had. Stephanie and the office support staff are very well organized and very helpful in navigating insurance, pay plans, etc. They are also very good at ensuring that you don't miss your appointments. One thing that I really appreciate is Dr. Gayed's professionalism and willingness to listen to me -- the patient. It is great to be able to work out a course of action that is mutually agreeable without feeling pressured into expensive procedures. Finally -- the office has a real nice vibe! Even the background music is great (for a Classic Rock fan like me, today was quite a treat!). Most highly recommended! TimPosted on Google![]()

Questions People Actually Ask Us
Do you have to file down my teeth?
No. That fear comes from older veneer techniques where healthy enamel was ground away all around the tooth. Our low-prep composite veneers are added to your teeth rather than carved out of them. In many cases we remove nothing at all, and when we do it is a whisper-thin polish of the front surface.
What is a composite veneer, in plain English?
It is a tooth-colored material we shape directly onto the front of your tooth, layer by layer, then sculpt and polish by hand until it looks like the tooth you wish you had. Think of it as artistry done right on the tooth, in the chair.
How is that different from porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are made in a lab, usually cost more, and traditionally required more of your natural tooth to be shaped down. Composite veneers are done in one visit, cost less, preserve more of your own tooth, and can be repaired or adjusted later instead of replaced entirely.
How long does it take?
Most patients finish in one appointment. A full smile makeover across the front teeth takes longer than a single chipped tooth, and we will tell you exactly what your case needs at your free consultation.
How long do composite veneers last?
With good care, several years — and because the material is added rather than the tooth cut away, refreshing or repairing them later is straightforward. Coffee, red wine, and smoking are the main things that dull them over time.
Is it reversible?
Low-prep composite work is the most conservative cosmetic option we offer, and because so little or no enamel is removed, your natural tooth stays largely intact underneath. That is exactly why we favor it.
Can veneers fix gaps and chips?
Yes — chips, small gaps, worn edges, uneven lengths, and stains that whitening will not lift are all everyday work for composite veneers. If your teeth are significantly crooked, we may suggest straightening them first with Invisalign so the result looks natural rather than bulky.
